Inhoud

The visual world around us is complex and continuously changing. Nevertheless, within a few hundred milliseconds, our brain transforms patterns of light falling on our retina into coherent percepts and concepts. It is still largely a mystery how our brain accomplishes this. This project-based course challenges students to explore visual information underlying perception and cognition. Students will use visual information (computational data), brain responses (neural data) and behavioral reactions (response time/accuracy and eye fixation data) to test hypotheses on visual perception and cognition.

Bijzonderheden

Students will carry out their projects in the Brain & Technology Amsterdam Lab (www.beta-lab.nl). The B&TA Lab provides students with state-of-the-art equipment at the crossroad of brain sciences and information technology, such as EEG devices, eye-trackers and physiological sensors.
